You know that sense of accomplishment you get when you do and/or finish something that’s been on your list forever? Well that happened this week … ten times over, thanks to my wonderful parents who helped me check off the following “Crosbie household” to-dos:
Oh, and I called the energy company in town about three lights that are out on our street.
Holy. Cow. I. Am. Tired.
Thank you, Mom and Dad, for all your help! We’re looking good again :)
I may be entirely wrong, but I think that if, instead of preaching brotherly love, we preached good manners, we might get a little further. It sounds less righteous and more practical.Eleanor Roosevelt
So this evening, on my way home from work, I saw a abandoned, shiny new Jeep Wrangler soft-top window in the middle of the street by our driveway. Now, I love Jeeps - Wranglers in particular - so I thought, “Someone is going to miss that, a lot. It must be saved.”
Therefore, I grabbed it from the busy road and tossed it to the boulevard in hopes that the owner would find it at some point.
While working in the yard a couple of hours later, a guy (in a very cool Jeep Wrangler) pulled up into the driveway, asking if I knew anything about a Jeep window. Long story short, he learned that I’d saved it from the pavement and he happily had his window back.
Here’s where the whole, “why ‘Jeep people’ rock” thing comes in …
This individual was so excited to have found his window back, he wanted to offer payment, buy lunch, and provide some small token of appreciation for the “save.”
Needless to say, nothing was exchanged but the offer was certainly appreciated. It was left as, “Are you kidding me?! I’m not taking your money … I love Jeeps. We’re all a family. Gotta stick together. This is what we do!?”
Ah, so refreshing.
I love Jeeps. And my fellow, “Jeep People.”

Attempting to make it a habit to run in the mornings with Eli, the dog…
Day 1 - Strong start but Eli needs to work on his endurance and rabbit-chasing :)
